Study (Torah), service (avodah) and acts of kindness (g’melut hasadim) are the three pillars on which Carmel Academy was founded. This vision comes to life each day, in academics, as well as beyond the classroom, as we inspire our students to give back to the community around us. By encouraging students to find relevance in their learning and connect to the community through social action, our children are empowered to be independent learners and take an active role in improving the world around them.
An integral part of Carmel Academy’s mission is to enhance the Jewish identity and its associated values to our students. We live and promote these values, daily, at our school. We do this through derech eretz (the proper way to act), tikkun olam (repairing the world), chesed (kindness), tzedakah (charity) and mitzvah (acts of human kindness) projects.
At Carmel Academy, we promote living Jewish values in our everyday classroom life and on the playground. We are involved in local, national and international charity projects ranging from helping to rejuvenate the forests in northern Israel to collecting food and supporting a local food pantry, as well as entertaining and celebrating holidays with seniors at local nursing homes, contacting sick classmates, and food, clothing and toy drives.
