Carmel Academy Technology/Computer Science Instructor & Coach

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Technology and Computer Science curriculum for grades TK-8.
  • Partner with science teacher to develop integrated STEM curriculum, projects and events
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate technology and computer science skills into their curriculum
  • Support student learning regarding digital citizenship
Strategic vision of technology education at Carmel Academy:
  • Create a short (1-2 years) and long (3-5 years) vision for CA educational technology program
  • Propose a budget that is aligned with mission of the school and vision of technology department.
  • Assess current hardware and software efficiency and needs
Faculty and student support and training:
  • Model support and train teachers in technology integration across content areas
  • Lead faculty technology training
  • Provide end-user technical support to both faculty and students
Co-curricular activities:
  • Facilitate opportunities for students to engage with technology outside of the classroom
School-wide technical support:
  • Coordinate with the IT department regarding educational technology needs
Parent education and support:
  • Create opportunities for parent education in the use of technology from a parental viewpoint (i.e. parental controls, internet safety, etc.)
Advancement Team:
  • Support the Advancement Team to create materials that support the the school
  • Master’s Degree in Education, specialty in teaching technology and/or computer science
  • Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience in a related field
  • Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development
  • Ability to build professional relationships and work collaboratively
  • Familiarity with STEM standards
  • Deep desire to continue learning
