Welcome from the Admissions Director

B'ruchim Haba'im—Welcome to Carmel Academy, where we cultivate each child’s intellectual, social and emotional development, achieving academic excellence and a deep connection to Jewish wisdom and tradition.
Our highly-trained faculty is dedicated to teaching each child as an individual. Our low student-to-faculty ratio and progressive teaching methods utilize a specially developed, integrated curriculum, emphasizing experiential learning. We maintain a rigorous general and Hebrew/Judaic studies program which we combine with top-notch instruction in technology, art, physical education and music. Carmel Academy supplements the core curriculum with extensive enrichment opportunities in all areas as well as academic support if needed. After-school offerings are diverse and include ballet, drama, gymnastics, papermaking and guitar, as well as a competitive interscholastic athletic program.
Carmel Academy families share a set of values in common—a desire to provide their children with the best education in a setting that also delivers a values-oriented curriculum based on Jewish tradition, a deep connection to Israel and the Jewish people, and fosters intellectual curiosity and a life-long love of learning. We provide opportunities for parents and grandparents to volunteer in classrooms, participate in our active Parents’ Association Council, and attend school-wide gatherings, all of which allows our families to be active participants in their children’s school lives.
Carmel Academy is the only religiously-diverse Jewish day school serving students through 8th grade in the region, and we welcome and honor students from all branches of Judaism. Our Upper School offers egalitarian and traditional prayer options for students in 6th through 8th grades. The diversity of Jewish backgrounds among our students and faculty is one of the hallmarks of our school, and teaches students at a very organic level that seeing issues from different perspectives adds to the richness of their intellectual, creative and spiritual development.
Academic excellence is a fundamental goal of Carmel Academy. Our Upper School students consistently earn top honors in the special SET3 (engineering) and E2K (science/math) enrichment programs in which we participate. E2K for example, developed in Israel, and used throughout the United States, South America and Singapore, encourages gifted students to use logic, analysis, creativity and teamwork to approach math and science. Our students graduate with all the skills and confidence to succeed in high school, and make a difference in the world. We have an impressive record of our graduates gaining acceptance at many of the most competitive private secular and Jewish high schools as well as public school honors programs.
We invite you to schedule a tour of the campus and our unique school. Our Admissions Calendar and Events page lists other opportunities in which you can experience the Carmel Academy difference.
We look forward to meeting you and learning about your children.
